The Char Dham — From Where the Rivers Are Born to Where the Gods Dwell on the Peaks

You follow four shrines deep in the Himalaya that Hindus still climb on foot. From where the Yamuna is born, to where the Ganges first draws breath at its source, to the stone temple of Shiva below the snow peaks, and at last below Neelkanth peak where Vishnu sits in meditation — from where the rivers are born to where the gods dwell, you climb, one by one, the four places of the Char Dham.
